Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a mixed-race family from South London in England. Her mother and father are both English. She was raised on a council estate located south of London. In the ages of fourteen, she was enrolled at The Brit School. She studied acting in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. While attending the school, she appeared in numerous stage productions, such as King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. The actress has been a guest for Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film appearance was Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Her popularity led her to play Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in six episodes Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. In 2008, she was cast as Bambi as the main character in ITV2's comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was a part of the Comedy film How to Lose Friends & Affect People. Her credits in theatre are Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe debuted in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama program ran on The CW for only two episodes, before it was removed from the air. Ashley Davenport, a character in ABC's Revenge drama series, was cast to play Ashley Davenport. Madekwe starred as a regular character on the drama series of Revenge on ABC during two seasons. It was revealed in May 2013 that she'd quit the show after completing an appearance in the very first season of the third. She played Tituba in the TV show Salem from 2014 to 2016. Madekwe, her longtime partner, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. They both appeared on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also starred as partners in Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into a large, extended family. The four brothers she had were present as well and included twins Todd & Bram, Brett & Rob. All of her brothers were athletic and played baseball and hockey throughout the winter and summer months. She grew up in baseball and arenas. Ashley did not have the ability to walk. She danced. At just 2 1/2 years old, she was a part of Baby Ballet. Ashley developed a passion for dancing after she started Baby Ballet. Ashley was a professional dancer in all the major divisions until she finished high school. The competitions she participated in included ballet, tap, jazz, pointe and Acrobatics. Every important dance competitions, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, have awarded her the title "top soloist".
